Winds
Yesterday the Foxes were teased by the wind as it finally was in the right direction but just not strong enough to pull them along with their pulks.  The wind then began to die down as they pitched tent in the evening.  However, during their daily call with the Met Office a few hours later it looked like their luck was to change.  The Met Office forecast the wind would pick up in a few hours and should reach a suitable speed to enable the Foxes to start kiting.

Based on this information, the plucky foursome opted to have only a couple of hours sleep and wake in the middle of the night to catch the wind.

As if on cue the wind forecast by the Met Office started blowing and the Foxes were at last able to start using their Flexifoil kites to pull them along.

Flying lessons
The weeks of walking clearly have taken their toll on the sensibilities of the Foxes and soon after the kites were up Jen thought she would try her hand at flying.

Needless to say the obvious physiological deficiencies of being a human being were not surmounted by the addition of a large kite and Jen proved to the Foxes that she couldn't fly.  However, she did prove it is possible to destroy her skis, pulk and traces in a matter of seconds.

Worry not, Jen is fine, which is more than can be said for her equipment.

Now, where did I leave gaffa tape and superglue…

What's in store…
The Foxes have 248km left to cover which will have to be done on foot owing to worsening weather conditions in Greenland.  Wind speeds are set to increase beyond the safe limit for kiting and contrast will reduce dramatically.  Oh, and Jen's smashed her skis which make skiing, well, difficult.
