Back to Finse & Meeting the Polar Quest Team
Felicity and Rachel returned to Finse in February, with honorary 'Fox' Pete, for some more kiting action.
Jo and Jenny were unable to join them this time as they had to work. However, this will not be happening again as Jo leaves her job on the 15th March and Jenny begins a 10 week leave of absence on the 31st March. It's Greenland all the way from then on.
The weather in Finse threw everything to the Foxes, from calm, bright days to strong winds and bad visibility - all excellant training for the expedition. The gusty wind provided some good kiting days, and after finding the 2.5m bullet a little twitchy, they opted to fly the 4m Blade II and crank up the adrenalin, giving momentary lift off to Rachel! Finse was also home that week to the Polar Quest team, a Royal Navy team that will be journeying to both the North and South Poles this year. The girls were able to share ideas, experience and stories with Sean Chappel, Paul Mattin and their teams. The North Pole team sets out on the 29th March and we wish them all the best and will be following their progress on their website: www.polarquest.co.uk
