The final preparations...
With only a matter of days to go it was all hands to the deck to finish off those final preparations.. The Vellino house turned into something of a sweatshop with Mummy Vellino zipping along on her sewing machine as if she was going for her own world record. Infact, if you stood still for too long you were likely to be hemmed into something, with foxy orange fleece sewn onto numerous garments (for extra-warmth in those chilblain prone areas). valances sewn on the tent.. Badges galore sewn onto jackets and pulks.furry wrist warmers created..and seam sealer all over the place. mayhem! But we couldn't have done it without you (thanks mum! x) Daddy Max was also hard at work uploading tunes onto the MP3 player, whilst the Foxes and Project Manager Rob ran through the Emergency procedures and Comms plan one last time. A final eye was also cast over the maps. which being an ice-cap is pretty much like a blank piece of paper (!) but the route plans were finalised and GPS waypoints plotted. Final photoshoots were held for the local press and the last bits of kit were packed ... shock horror it looks as though we may be organised. Just as well.. We leave tomorrow! x
